The Horticulture and Living With Fire teams will be giving community talks in April 2026 as part of the Extension @ Tahoe Event series. These talks will be from 6 – 8 PM at the Prim Library, 999 Tahoe Blvd, University of Nevada, Reno – Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada.
April 1 | Container Gardening @ Higher Elevation
Join Master Gardener Rachel McClure to talk container gardening at higher elevation from start to finish, with discussions on conceptualizations through off season storage.
April 8 | Wildfire Preparedness Workshop
Join Spencer Eusden to learn about best practices in protecting their homes from wildfires through home hardening and defensible space. This talk will focus on common challenges to homes in the Lake Tahoe basin and cost-effective solutions.

April 22 | Fire Adapted Communities: How We Work Together to Increase Wildfire Resilience
Join Jenni Burr to learn how to grow a Fire Adapted Community where individuals come together to understand the risk and take actions before, during, and after a fire to be more resilient and live with fire.
April 29 | Gardening with Native & Adaptive Plants for Higher Elevations
Join Master Gardener Rachel McClure to learn about using native and adaptive annuals and perennials for landscaping at higher elevations.
