October 10 & 13 2026 | Identifying Wildfire Risk Workshops

This workshop is designed for communities to conduct a wildfire risk assessment of their neighborhood. LWF staff will support participants analyzing paper maps of their neighborhood to identify local assets, values at risk, and wildfire risks. Maps completed by participants can be used in working with local fire departments to reduce risk, creating or updating a Community Wildfire Protection Plan, or other wildfire risk reduction actions. This workshop focuses only on identifying and communicating wildfire risk.
The follow-up workshop, offered on October 16 and 20, 2026, will focus on fuels mitigation and project prioritization to reduce the risks identified in this workshop.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to identify wildfire risks and hazards in your community.
- Identifying small-scale details and community characteristics that are often not captured in larger scale wildfire risk models.
- How to communicate your findings with local government officials and members of your community.
Who Should Attend:
Anyone motivated to better understand wildfire risk in their community and take action is welcome to attend. We strongly recommend having a team of 2-5 members from your community attend together.

- Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 12:30 - 4:30 pm
