Evacuation Resources

Wildfire activity is ramping up across Nevada. Be prepared to evacuate by following these steps:

>> Stay informed and sign up for county alerts.

>> Understand evacuation levels and leave early.

• • If you’re in a Go Now (Red) zone, leave without delay. Do not return until officials announce the area is safe.

• • If you're in a Get Set to Evacuate (Yellow) zone, immediately gather medications and important documents, ready your pets, grab your Go-Bag, and be ready to leave if conditions worsen. Leaving early is often the safest choice for both residents and emergency responders.

• • Many counties use Perimeter Map to show evacuation zones.

Fire is a natural part of Nevada's landscape that has shaped these ecosystems for generations. The goal isn't to eliminate fire but to learn how to live more safely with it by:

• avoiding activities that can spark fires on high risk days
• taking steps to reduce risk around our homes, property, and neighborhoods
• having an evacuation plan
• understanding fire behavior
• paying attention to weather conditions. Days with low humidity, hot temperatures, and high wind mean fire risk is especially high because the conditions are ideal for fires to start and spread.
