Join us this May to read Fire Weather by John Vaillant. Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, Fire Weather tells the story of the 2016 megafire that burned through the Canadian town of Fort McMurray. It weaves together the community experiences of this conflagration fire and explores how the earth’s changing climate is impacting modern forest fires. Robert Macfarlan, author of Underland, says it “grips like a philosophical thriller, warns like a beacon, and shocks to the core.” We’ll meet on May 26 to discuss the book together online.

Date: May 26, 2026
